Our friends over at Black Rock are putting on a few rad events this month.  The first up is this weekend, May 13.  Join us Saturday as we do a quick tour of downtown with friends.  Ride sets out at 2:00 p.m. from Lan Kwai Fong and winds a 5.5km course to UID Cafe (in U37 district).

Riding as a family is an awesome way to create great memories with your children.  I mean who can’t remember the first time they rode along with their parents as a kid?  But bringing your kid along for the ride can be tricky.

For young children, putting them on the back means your child is out of sight and out of reach.  That’s why we really dig the design of the WeeRide.  For children 18 months and older, this seat affixes to a frame that mounts to most bikes of all sizes. Read more

The next countryside ride is on the calendar, so be sure to mark Sunday, June 4.  This time round we’re giving an extended notice for all our friends so everyone can be sure to make the space to join in.

On this ride we’ll ride through portions of the countryside to the south and southeast of Chengdu.  The ride begins near to the Cheng Zi Lu Expressway and winds south through farmlands and rolling countryside outside of the domain of Chengdu’s bustling city boulevards.

We will then pass through a traditional rural village, meander through a network of small country roads before continuing towards Taiping Village where we’ll catch the end of a traditional country market and have a fresh lunch. Read more

Last weekend we worked with Jing A to put together a ride out to the Blue Roof artist residences.  Once there we had a nice set meal with a good group of friends.  Truth be told we couldn’t have asked for a better ride.

Beyond the amazing food and Jing A beer, the weather was perfect and we had just the right size crowd to enjoy round after round of awesome conversation.  After lunch we tossed a frisbee around for a bit before heading back into town.

Sunburnt but happy, we all find our way back to the shop.  It’s safe to say everyone had an amazing time.  If you had the misfortune of missing out on this ride, keep your eyes peeled for the next.  Now that summer’s here we have plenty more daylight to ride. Read more

Our friend Devin has been a huge supporter of ours for years now.  Our first customer, he has since followed up and purchased not only another touring bike, but most recently one for his girlfriend as well.

Anyone who’s spent time in the saddle knows that logging time on the bike by yourself can get a little lonely.  Sometimes you found yourself out in the middle of nowhere yearning for any conversation.  What better conversation can be had than that with your partner?

This sweet new bike also made for an awesome anniversary gift.  Devin’s girlfriend Anna has always slogged out their weekend bike packing trips in the hills north of Beijing on an old clunker.  Barely rideable, she still managed to keep up with Devin on the inclines as the two explored the expanses of the mountains.
