ORCO CICLI HISTORY

Orco Cicli was officially founded in Milan in January 2010 and is based in a small workshop in Via Pastrengo 7, in the historic area of Milan called Isola.The company is young, but the founders, Adriano Maccarana and Giò Pozzo, have more than ten years of experience in this field and prior to starting their own company have devoted years to the design of prototypes that are now models of Orco Cicli, all designed to continue the historic tradition of Italian handicraft production of high quality bicycles.

All Orco Cicli bicycles are made with Italian chromoly steel or a stainless steel frames, brazed junction and with the best tubes in the world: the Columbus Italian ones. We personally design, construct, finish off and assemble our bikes as it was once, when bikes were a luxury property, maybe expensive but made ​​to last forever. Obviously materials have changed and evolved, but construction techniques are the same and the tools too. With those tools and a lot of passion, today, we design and build modern, handcraft bicycles with the same taste of ancient time, perfect for the city, trips, travel…

All our bikes are custom-made and we start the frame building upon customer request. In order to find the perfect frame fit we need nine different sizes of the customer like for example the leg and arm lengths. Then we can begin to design the bike that will have dimensions, finishes, colors, different accessories, chosen together with the customer. Every bicycle we product is unique, extremely personalized.

ORCO CICLI 历史

Orco Cicli使用Cro-mo超高强度合金钢或者不锈钢钢架，钎焊接口工艺，采用世界最好的管材意大利Columbus。每辆自行车的设计、制造、漆面、组装都由我们手工完成。和曾经有一些相似，当时自行车属于奢侈的机器，价格有些高昂，坚固耐用。材料已经进化，但是工艺与工具保留了下来。今天的我们满怀激情，使用传统的工具和纯手工工艺设计和制造现代自行车，它们略带复古，适合旅行，是完美的城市自行车……
我们的所有自行车都是为顾客量身定制。车架的选择依据详细划分的九种人的体型：只有在完成这个环节后，我们才能开始设计自行车的其他细节，并与顾客本人一同确定尺寸、漆面、颜色、不同的配件，也正因此，每一辆成品自行车都独一无二，保留了车主人与众不同的个人风格和品位。

About Orco Cicli – 关于我们

Adriano Maccarana, before being the owner of Orco Cicli, apart from his work as consultant, has been a mechanic who loves smooth, threading, assemble, disassemble and reassemble. His nickname (orco, in English ogre) gives the name to our company. He knows almost everything about bicycles this is why he wrote a book named “The perfect machine” and we hope he will write a second volume soon. He loves to try every single bicycle he produces but his own bike is very old!

Luigi Nespoli is a frame builder. He works with the welding and the cutting torch, he knows the tig welding technique and makes frames with or without lugs. Without him Orco Cicli could not exist or could not be distinguished from all the other self-styled Italian manufacturers, many of which are actually “made in Taiwan”. Each Orco Cicli frame comes from his large hands (Luigi is a real big man) and is made  in the area of Brianza, Italy. He loves Negroni cocktail and beer.

Villa Mara likes to work with ceramics. She makes wonderful ceramics cups, with beautiful handmade painting. Orco cicli offers a special option that customers can have their name or other designs painted on the frame by her magic hands. For Orco Cicli she not only decorates frames but also builds wheels. She loves vegetarian lasagna and bakes her own bread at home.

Giò Pozzo has graduated in architecture and journalism. For Orco Cicli he writes, tries to coordinate everything, takes care of the communication, opens and closes the store (almost) every day, keeps the tools sorted. Unfortunately he spends too much time in front of the computer and too little time on bike. He loves bikes and would like to sell (many) more.

The construction – 制造

All our bikes are built with the highest quality components, all made ​​in Italy. In order to guarantee our customer a high-quality product we only use the best Italian brands such as Ambrosio, Vittoria, San Marco, Alpina, Campagnolo and Miche…. We do everything in-house, patiently handmade, starting from tubes and junctions to a complete and unique bicycle created by the skilled hands of Luigi.

Spicciola

We cannot hide that Spicciola is our passion. For this single speed racing bike we chose Cromor Columbus tubes, which are lighter and thinner than standard chromoly. This bike has a nice handlebar, thin tires on two hand-made lightweight wheels with double walled rims, a track crank and powerful brakes. This is the Spicciola, and it is a pleasure to ride and makes your heart sing. Lightweight, sleek and well-balanced.

Iskra

The frame of this bicycle has a long story: in the ’80s it raced the “Six Day” at the legendary Vigorelli velodrome in Milan. After thirty years of oblivion today is reborn. Ariel
