Maintenance Workshops

20170629-maintenance

Owning a bike is one thing.  Being able to readily maintain your own bike is a whole new level.  Nothing is more liberating than being able to get around freely without concern for being caught out with a mechanical helpless.

As part of our customer appreciation we’ve always organized free maintenance workshops.  This week we’ll be hosting three in a row, each with a focus on some new aspect of bicycle maintenance.  Here’s the break down.

6/28 Brakes

Join us as we cover everything related to brakes.  We’ll explain the different types, how to adjust them on the fly and teach you when you need to change your cables or brake shoes.

6/29 Tires

We’ll be talking everything of rubber.  In this workshop we’ll discuss the different types of tires, sizes, applications and the basics of changing a flat tire.

6/30 Shifting

The holy grail of bicycle mechanics, learning the basics of how to adjust your gears on the fly can save you a frustrating ride or two.  We’ll explain in detail when and how to adjust your gears as well as the regular cleaning and maintenance you can do to keep everything in working order for longer.

Each night, starting at 6 p.m. sharp.  Stop in, grab a beer and a seat as we go through each of these.  Make it to all three and know the fundamentals to hit the road as an apprentice bike mechanic.
