CURA Anlong Ride

For the past few years, CURA (Chengdu Urban Rivers Association) has been hosting regular rides and luncheons in Anlong Village, a nearby sustainable farming community at the outskirts of the city.

If you’re not familiar, Anlong is a sustainable success story with a number of farmers growing organic produce. The village also strictly follows several practices that help keep our waters cleaner.

We recently made the trek out to see what this sustainable community had to offer. The ride brought us through stunning countryside. Quiet roads and good friends made the journey even better.

Don’t feel like you’ve missed out. CURA will be hosting its next ride to Anlong this coming Sunday, November 8. Look forward to a full day of riding and good food.

The ride itself sets out 9 a.m. To register, email cura2005@126.com with your name, your cellphone number as well as brief explanation of your biking ability.

The ride is roughly 40 kilometers to the northwest of the city. A 70 RMB fee will cover the costs of guides and a homemade local, organic meal.

Plan to make it back to city center around 4 p.m. If you don’t have a bicycle available, rentals are available at Natooke. Call the shop in advance at 8504 2450 to confirm availability.
