Qi Xi Ride

0028013433475160_b_meitu_1

August 9th doesn’t appear to be a remarkable date. However according to the lunar calendar, it’s the 7th day of the 7th month. This date holds a special place in that it’s the traditional Chinese Valentine’s. It’s the one day that Zhinü, a heavenly fairy and Niulang, her human husband, can reach one another by crossing a heavenly bridge.

Besides the romantic side of this holiday, there’s also the play on words. The “double seven” holiday as it’s otherwise known has a less symbolic, but equally significant link to riding bikes. Qi qi!

Show up at the shop at 7 p.m. We’ll be offering a buy one get one special for t-shirts for any couple that comes along. On top of that we’ll be doing a short, moderate paced ride around town.
